Getting the motor locked down and gear mesh set. I think without issue it will be running and driving tomorrow, albeit in snow. All that is left is hooking up the throttle servo linkage to make it run, unless something comes up. With that being said, anything you guys want to see out of this thing with the amount of speculation about it? I would like the transmission to fail first myself. Think I may tune the transmission so it only uses 2nd gear as well.

Your gonna have to open the clutches dam bear whole way up for them to grab to begin with, they arnt made to operate as such low rpm. I still vote trans is first out the door. Blown plenty of them with a nitro, then diffs would be the second guess. Blown even more of them with the brushless conversion.

I opened them just to the brink of only using 2nd gear. Under compressed air it so-so on the 1-2 shift.
Video of you holding it wide open when its tuned. No holding back and no pussy footing on the gas
I can do that, will be on hard packed snow though, don't have any dirt at the moment.

Y so negative. I say do it and keep upgrading every time it breaks.
Your being an idiot. Theres only so much to upgrade on a savage. And it will still give shite. Theres a big difference between negativity and wasting time, and skills on a fruitless effort. The guy has decent skills that could be put to practical use, either making a robust 1/8 scale, or a decent 1/5 scale, but takes minimal considerations for how things are constructed to handle the little power these engines put out, everything is proportional to the out put if the engine. You of all people should know this. Stroke his ego as much as you like, a chicken shite sandwich is still a chicken shite sandwich.

Minimal consideration? I used grade 8 bolts mang.

If that's as far as your thought process goes you better stop wile your ahead. Grade 3 would have more then sufficed for this application as well as a standard 10-32 machine screw. I can understand your thought process, but it is flawed. A weak foundation the house will fall. But I digress, my comment was aimed at trooper and his overly wishful thinking of sunshine, unicorns and rainbows. You seem to understand that your efforts are more or less going wasted, but you have decided to persevere anyway. I'm not a blow smoke up your arse type of guy, and truthfully if someone want to, they can blow it through the pm system. I do believe you have the potential to make something decent once you understand starting with a subpar platform and Transgendering it into something it is not was a waste. Now let's see it run. Nothing on that thing is going to die because of a bit of snow.

:ROFLMAO:

Got it running and drove it around, the adapter for the transmission let loose at the input shaft after about a tank. Think I may go ahead and get a Baja transmission on the way. Fun to drive for sure.

Thanks, lasted just long enough to get an idea for how it drives, etc.
Transmission seems to be in good shape still, just the adapter went out. To cure those issues I got the following ordered for it

Baja Transmission
Steel Transmission gears
Steel Spur gear
Complete Baja brake assembly
9mm dogbones
25kg servo

Should be what it needs to get going until the diffs or hubs cant take it. Noticed it was leaning pretty hard into the hubs.
