None of the 1/8th people are running 2 strokes in a modified chassis. This "build" sub-forum seems like a good place for a thread, per all the knowledgeable people on this forum.

HA... bet it cant beat this 2jz lawn mower

This is a 1/5th scale forum meaning bought as a 1/5 scale to begin with and not Frankenstein shoe horn a weed whacker engine on an 1/8 scale truck which looks hideous and ridiculous btw....

Since your extremely new to this forum id either pack it up with your obomination or get a real 5th scale to continue your stay here. WANKER
Damn

Main frame is constructed from 1.5"x3" box tube aluminum. Motor plate is drilled 1/8" as well as the fuel tank plate.

Motor is a 27.5cc Rovan with HPI baja clutch bell and brace, the spur as well. Stock exhaust can for now for break in and working all the bugs out. Then it will get a tuned pipe.

Specs:
19.5" WB
17.8" width
19.4lb

Finished weight will probably be around 23lb, that is the goal anyways. Full cage with body panels. The only body I can find with the same specs is a Baja Rey 2.0

@Troopermaniac give it a rest..its set in stone just because you wanna look at it upside down and backwards on your head to give it a chance its still 8th scale. ...When buying an RC vehicle, the box will often note its scale, which refers to the size of the model as compared to its full-size counterpart. For instance, a 1:10 scale Formula 1 Indy RC car is 1/10th the size of, or 10 times smaller than, the size of the real thing.

ok...i chk'd the pics...but hows it held on?....i guess ur using the stock shaft?

Transmission input shaft is identical to a Savage axle stub shaft(wheel hub shaft), pinned as well. A 14mm wheel hex fits perfectly over the input held with a pin. Using a 1/4" drive 14mm socket it fits over the 14mm wheel hex and held in place by the input shaft nut. A machined 17mm socket fits perfectly over the 14mm socket. The two are then welded together. A 17mm nut is placed inside the 17mm socket and welded. Then a 17mm bolt is ground down to have 2 flat sides. It is then threaded into the 17mm nut. It was then cross drilled held in place with a 6mm bolt.

After mounted the spur can be spun with compressed air to modify the shift points of the lower rpm 2 stroke.
Rc tractor pulling is my guess ?‍♂️ ... and alot of broken axles and possibly rims
Some may argue a 1200kv brushless setup is much harder on axles.

Holy nats...is it gonna still be 4wd or 2wd? What are your plans for wheels and tires?
4wd, stock front driveshaft, modified rear shaft, rear shaft is around 11". Stock wheels and tires for now until the bugs are worked out.
Interesting...how long till it runs

Need to fuel mount tank and attach throttle servo and it will be break in ready. Building the cage will take a bit longer.

I foresee and earth shattering kaboom when the thing runs, and not just Sean's head from his blood press spiking ;-)

The didn't have the godliest drive trains without that motor.
Thought about that. My reasoning was based around this Savage already having the "bulletproof" diffs. How "bulletproof" is tbd. Main concern is the transmission holding up. If the transmission scatters I will likely run a Baja axle assembly turned 90 degrees with a locked diff, basically turning it into a transfercase. The other option is a Losi transmission.
