I'm using 8 weights with my lightened gyro and was really happy with the stability. I did 4 groups of 2 right at each spot where the rings screw in.

cheers. I have mine sitting on the table now. just got home from work. I'll try 8 myself. my chain sure seems to have stretched though. I put the spacers in that move the wheel the farthest back and still have play. might have to pull a link out soon... or make an adjuster like on a TTR

I bought recently secondhand anderson/dx450 with non brushless and 3000mA nimh battery. Electric rc is really new to me but I am well aware of that brushless is superior against traditional motor. But I was suprised that my bike was so dead boring slow...... no anywhere near it could pop wheelie not even close. I think I could almost run as fast as it goes. Is there something wrong or is this best what non brushless and lipoless bike can perform.

The nimh battery isn't helping you out nor is the brushed motor. How many turns is the motor?

A brushless motor and brushless speed control will really help . The batteries: a 2s lipo (7.4v) will give you a bit more speed, but a 3s lipo (11.1v) should really wake it up.

Brushed vs Brushless has been night and day with the few experiences I've had with it. I don't want to go back to brushed.

Received the shock rebuild kits in the mail today from Formby, I hope Tower gets these in soon.

They come with just 2 G Clips. Cheap jerks could have put in 4 since they are so damn difficult to put in place.

I just tried the bike on 2s with 8 weights added in. much better. and loosened the spring. wheelies are almost as easy as stock on 3s and controllable.

going to hit the bmx track in the next 2 days for some fun and try it out... I need a new front fender though as mine is flopping around.. repaired once allready... time for the fender protector me thinks

man is it cool to have my dirt bike going again, I really missed this thing and I have 5 or 6 lipos to play now

ordered a new shock a week ago thrusday from a state away. still waiting for it today. which sucks, cuz i was really expecting it to be here when i got home from the work week away. really wanted to take the bike to my buddys track i ran on yesterday.

have a few vids in the works, nothing fancy, just a stable vid cam shooting across the track. not alot of great shots, but you can kind of see him and i running. next time there will be more of us, and better footage to work with.

also have a short vid of the look from the drivers stand and a walk thru i ll post up shortly.

Thanks for the reminder. was wondering what to wrench on tonight. I'll add the steering stabilizer to my dx450. we were going to hit the bmx track today but it was raining. I have 2 more guys wanting bikes now after I let them drive mine...

yup sure missed having this toy around to play with... and I can run it outside and entertain the kids with jumps flops and wheelies. they love it.

time to order a new front fender and make a brace. mine is barely even hanging on now

Shock was here yesterday when i got home. going to install it here a a bit. finially get to run the bike again. they are talking 60s here today and 70s tomorrow! YEAYYYY>

got the shock installed with the HD rear spring again.
Modified RCs Gyro is still setup with only 5 weights. good acceloration, but with the HD spring its pretty bouncy in the yard. i think this would be a great starting point for hard dirt or running onroad. when i took mine to the road a bit, it handled quite well, and turning was pretty good.

Im still really dinking with my steering settings trying to get it setup to feel like i want. Add the learning curve of the bike, and its a slow and tedious process. lol

have to decide if im going to keep running it in the yard or not and maybe install the softer rear spring. Saturday im going to a buddys Track (the one i posted on in Caro), and will take it for a few packs to really see how my mods work out. i have to work with the front shocks as they are still fairly sticky until they start to move, then they work well. I even put the front axle back into a neg castor setup, and it made no differance on the shocks sticking.

will tear them down, and may try some Losi Green Slime inside the help the initial stickyness.
also still need to find a good material to use for crash bars. need a good but not over bearing spring rod of some sort.

More later.

I am going to try and hit the bmx track today for a bit.
sounds like the upgrade forks still need some work? are they worth the $50? my stockers are working decent now with the grease installed

im going to take them partially apart and take a close look at what causing them to stick initially. sure its nothing big or major. other than the initial stick, they are pretty nice.

Let me know what you find. Mine have the initial stick as well. Drives me nuts. I've been too lazy to take them apart...been waiting on you to do it.

looked nice early but turned into a tsunami. rain and super heavy winds.. I stayed home and did some more organizing of my tools and rc crap, then started building my sc8e... go figure, it;'s a kit. the difs came pre built but not filled, so I had to take them apart to fill them... wtf is with that?

got a CC Mamba Max here to replace my dead Mtroniks Genesys Pro ESC.

hopefully things are good with the new esc.

Yeah... no it wheelies. Ezrun 60A esc, 8,5t brushless and turnigy 3s 2200mah. Just my fender looks similar to my 1:1 cr250 few years before. First I thought its disappointment again but it was just slipping tire. After cleaning it still slipped (bit wet) but coating wheel with doublesided tape helped.

I also found out that these bikes are absolutely dry weather machines. Of course haven't driven it rain or etc but just wet sand locked chain and wet grass was everywhere.

I'll admit, I'm an extreme petrolhead (AREN'T WE ALL? !!), and speednut - in my time - but I could never REALLY get into bikes, small or 1:1 (so why am I writing ... )
I'll admit, I'm fascinated by this little beastie.
The forwards / backwards somersaults are a tad unreal, but the stabilising gyro effect is fantastic!!
Sorry, won't be getting one, wife would kill me !!
A.
