You could always just tack weld one together and have someone who is very very good at tig finish that sucker up?The problem with that is the material if you are using aluminum or titanium then the mig might not work.IDK if they make any wire that would work on those?
Crucial has the ability to probably fit one up pretty nicely from his vids and projects.I wouldn't mind seeing someone try it on here
This would take some patience and a lot of planning but certainly doable
Why not run a team chase cage and a 5t or 5sc body shell
Really not a fan of either cage or shells?

I would probably try it with some brakeline tubing first to see how to lay out the hoops and how to tie them together. The bending would be the hardest part I think and how to mount it to the frame.I think if you can source the materials for less than maybe a 100 bucks it's worth a shot but then again that 100 could buy some other parts. It would feel great to make it yourself though

fellas,
You don’t need mig or tig welders to weld aluminum . All you need is a map gas and the aluminum rods from harbor freight.
https://www.harborfreight.com/8-piece-low-temperature-aluminum-welding-rods-44810.html
Or if you wanna go 1018 cr tube steel (which will be heavier) you can braze with mapp gas and stay silver45% brazing rods.
titanium rods can be brazed the same way as 1018 cr steel.Let me know if you guys need help I can show you guys how to do it, or look it up on YouTube

Hmm... I have a everlast 140 mig lol. Been a flawless little machine. Anything I need s to weld heavier then 3/8 goes multi pass or I go get the my dads lincoln 225 ranger and stick weld it. I've done some aluminum brazing and soldering in the past, don't know why I didnt think about that.
@Seandonato73 everlast are good mig welders. you run argon/co2 mix?
i need to get a bottle for my lincoln weldpak 140hd. right now i run it without gas. it's the flux cored wire that im using. still does a good job but it's messy and the welds need to be cleaned, grinded and sanded

Yep run gas on it. It's a us design made in china (same as most other welders nowadays) only reason I bought it was it was a demo unit and got it really cheap. The downside of it, is it's a 120volt machine. So I have to keep it plugged In to the 30 amp socket if I run it much over 100 amps. I should have know better and jumped up to the next size, which was a 220 volt machine. Outside of that its light, and holds a 12lb spool of hard wire. The inverter tech was new to me when I was looking but I have been impressed with it. Very smooth arc and little spatter. If I do my part it can lay down some impressive welds for its size. The only other gripe I had was the ground lead was kinda short, but I have that same complaint about most mig welders. If it craps out tomorrow I'd go buy another, had this one since 2014.
