job for tonight was to tackle the front and rear diffs.

First the rear diff

Not much grease in there. It’s the first time I have opened the rear diff in my ownership. ?










Rear diff almost as good as new. All gears looked in good condition which is ?

Then onto the front diff









Then all built back up. My new steering servo mount and steering setup and new rod ends ready for the assembly.?

Next job is to tackle the chassis strip down

Nice work... I've got to do the same. New aluminum diffs coming with CCR and MIP innards. I may get an upgraded rear housing too. Good detail with the pics too!

Now this is where we're have to be careful if Z or evssv get wind of us talking about lub and strippers
They will get carried away and then there will be a formal inquiry

Tonight I started on the chassis











Onece the chassis was completely tore down I set to work on the center diff.

May I say that the center diff is a masterpiece






Fluid all changed an replaced 300,000





All diffs now done I can concentrate on the major clean up lol

I would need to measure up but I think the centre is longer if I remeber correctly so don’t think it would fit in the drift housings

Thinking about it, it might be the diff cups that are longer so it might work with swapping the diff cups to front or rear ones!

The greas inside are all the same size........ the only difrence i can remeber is bevel/pinion gear.....may be wrong though mesure if you can

Next up in the big clean up was the chassis,motor and electrics tray. I must be crazy knowing it is going to be filthy again after it’s next race day.

At least I will know everything is tip-top ??





















I still have a few little jobs to do like new antenna tube and a few odds and ends

I only race the 5b. and that's on astro turf so not may rocks about.

i only put mes on my crank case


you can also mesh mod the pull start cover but i have not done it so i have outerwears over the
pull start. and i have over the air filter and shocks??

That's a very neat job there dougstar. how did you secure the mesh in your crankcase?
