New to1/5 Scale..Slawhammer's Project

Ya this is a small electric. my bud in Chilliwack flies indoor at the red barn where we have been doing some inoor electric racing in wonters. I think drop in fee is $10 a head. be a fun night. only about an hour's drive for me there.

the little blade mcx or msr are easy to fly and fun indoors in the house. pretty cheap too.
 
Well Customs: welcome to the site...there is a lot to be read and alot you can use for your firehammer.....My project is over 1 year old now..still not any where what I want it to be yet........All depends on how much you want to invest......
No matter the Rc Unit brand name..or clone....you will always want better....
The firehammer is a good platform...Stems from the FG Marder.....So many Fg Parts will fit the firehammer..........Enjoy the hobby........Slaw
 
Awwwa ...CSP the pages in stone are being chisled out now for the new chapter of the book.....Getting things in order for the rebuild with the 2 spd........
Hey the sun was out today dried things up some what.....I did get out in the alley Way for about 20 minutes....Long rain streach there...10 days...I will see how the weather goes
here for Oct.....should be a few good days to run yet....Before the rebuild.....
Lot of things to get ready for the build....all electronics will be changed....
as alloy radio tray added..alloy bulkheads added with short alloy shock tower.....
going to see if I can make the GST Piggy Back shocks too work........As for the engine
Fg alloy clutch case..question as to clutch used....2spd should be ready to install
found a bad bearing there today..when going over items to install........
I have not decided if going with duel steering servo's yet.........New fg support roll cage
and all that applys....Taking out the custom support duel roll bars .......While doing every thing ..time to repack the bearings & replace what is needed.........
I want to install hydro brakes....any way on the front....Looking in to ball drive...
So there is many things to do yet for my project.....Hell it's been a year now on this project.......Think Bigger The Better said "never ending project" or some thing to that effect awhile back........So that's the latest for my run down on the projet..before I get started with pictures......Any comments welcome......Cheer's Guys.....Slawhammer

Hope to see some more upgrades from your build. Once you think your done we will make sure your NOT. :laugh:
 
Hey Bigger this the avatar picture I was looking for.....Be glad with it does dry out
lot of low line area's flooded.....Well you know how the build go's..you only want to spend so much..But I only have 1 Rc unit so..I devote the up grades to that.....
Been a fun project right along.....Many set backs at first....But now is a runner....

Hey Bigger...no such thing as drying out...RAIN again today......Begining to think a indoor
heli is the way to go.....Or just relocate to better climate........Maybe that thing that goes any where...hovercraft......No fun for 1/5 scale car or truck........
this stuff keeps up I will have to get a Slash elecrtic...that's all Quote"Water proofed"
any way that's the claim........I do think the rebuild will start real soon if this weather keeps raining.........I am still in good spirits about it all tho....Cheers..Slaw
 
Well not much going on......Cuz of Rain......Good news is there will be some thing
to add to slaw's barn this week......Yup another ride....all though used...but new to
me or I should say the miss's.......Yeah we got the ride for her...so she ca kick my butt
Hope to have pictures later this week.....The ride is in transit....by canoe ..coming down river.........Cheer's my friends....Slaw

can't wait to see the fleet additions come together. At least I can somewhat keep up to your building, these other guys just tick me off seeing all their goodies. I have been waiting now for almost 7 weeks for a package to arrive grrr

But The Postal carrier did arrive at my door with special delivery.....Big As Package....
And yes I did open it up.......total awsome.....sweet custom paint job on the body....

Hey Pipe....Yeah you got the inside track with slaw........Now you see you guys
pipe & I have been e-mailing each other for different ideas with Rc Stuff.....
I am not sure just how the fleet will go.....there are a few options to go with....

Well Bigger my friend......The fleet will be different that's for sure.....
as to the miss's new ride..there will be some minor up grades there......
But maybe the best will be to come for the special ride I am thinking about.....
Cuz you know my new ride ..will be a mind blower....with some awsome power..
and gearing....,Hope to get 75mph + and more .....Just figuring out some details yet
I have 3 or 4 options to go....still in the planning stage....But some items have been
purchased........I will be a thriller for sure.......You will have to wait on that ride
for now......may be few weeks for that to come about.....as do to funds for that ride...

Well I got the miss's new ride pretty well checked over....lot of upgrades had been
done....Stainless steel frt & rear Bumpers....Darlon A-Arms...Upper & Lower Frt & Rear
Sweet custom paint for the body .never put on the Rc Unit...New 5 spoke chrome wheels
new deep pin tires....New boots on the drive shafts...Stainless steel turn buckles
stainless steel push rods....New darlon skid plates...Frt.. Center.. Rear

Well cuz the miss's new ride is not a Giant Scale RC......And I want to comply with
