No sir. Mine worked fine right from the start. Maybe you need to adjust the throw on your servo or placement of your cable stop at the servo to get the full distance you need to engage it?

Unbelievable !!! After talking with primal , he said to adjust it at the cable end with adjustment nut , I noticed there was alot of slack in the cable so I moved the cable nut up a bit , turned on the reverse and it smoked ,? what the hell ? Good thing I don't have to send to Mars to get a servo they have them but , this is crap , should work right out of the box , for the money I paid , again with the ,,,,,, ( C R R R R R A P ! ) I told Allan what happened , I'm gunna see if he offers a servo , before I order it , only $25 , but still , rediculous !

Just talked with Allan , he's sending me a cable and servo , but I gotta open the back of the gear box to replace cable , ??? this should be fun !! Although I was able to compleatly destroy my back lawn in about 30 seconds yesterday , unbelievable

Save the headache and put better servos in if you have to replace it anyhow. I have two Savox servos on their way to my house...one for reverse and one for throttle.
Are you running the truck on the supplied NiMh pack or a Lipo? Also why are you having to replace the cable out of curiosity? If you smoked the servo should just be replacing that. Make sure when you adjust the cable stop...you also set your servo end point so its not burning up the servo pushing past its mechanical end.

Yes , that's what happened I'm sure got it to tight , I'm also going to lipo and savox , I've always been a savox fan I got them in everything , I'm just working out the bad work done on this thing from the slave house they put them together in , there sending me a free servo , I'll just figure this service thing out before putting good stuff , I freyed the freekn cable so it won't go back through sleeve and adjustment nut , I'll have to open the case evidently , do I can see how much grease isn't in there , I can't find any info on this project , maybe you could give it a look , I found lots of stuff but not that , I figger with the RC max insanity power , the nudge bar was a absuloot

Sorry brother, just had a chance to sit down after work. I pulled the manual and it does look like some good amount of work. I have been blessed to not have had to tear into that. From what I can see, looks like front drive shaft comes off, possibly the two frame cross bars to access the trans cover, pull the pinion and spur and the shaft they ride on. Then pull the beveled gear cluster. You should be able to then pull the cable off the fork. For the love of heaven...when you put your cable stop on this side...ensure its loctited well and fully cured. That lil bugger comes off in there...you are gonna be eating transmission gears. I know, I know sounds easier said then done. Just take a deep breath and start working through systematically. Let me know how it goes and if you run into any weird issues. Always good to have first hand knowledge.

First off , there's no grease in this thing , looks like someone just rubbed a bit in a corner that's it , primal told me today that some trucks are coming out missing one of the reverse return springs , I've got the reverse side off , I've got both springs , are you saying take the other side case off to disconnect cable and remove gears n stuff ? After my work today I'm thinking that's what needs to be done , I've already had that cover off also , so no big deal doing that , but for the money we pay for these things this is stupidly rediculouse crap !

Im not sure which side you went in from? Can you see the fork for reverse? Not being silly...but you only need to go that far. And now that you say that about the grease...sigh...wonder if I need to open mine up this weekend and check...lame. Do you have your manual?

Dude...if your on the spring side...you went into the wrong side of the transmission.to access the fork and cable stop...you gotta go in through the other side...

Sounds like you went in this side:

You need to be on this side:

Sorry I couldn't get to ya faster man and save ya the headache. How bad is the lack of grease...like don't run mine again til I open it up bad? Can I pull the transmission covers and get grease in there without pulling the whole engine or how far am I gonna have to go?

I'm where I need to be ! Pretty easy really , I talked to Allan at ptrimal , he sent all the parts out today from !!! FREE !!!!
Sure hope I can put it back together , by the time the parts get here , I think I'll give the gears a practice run
