Something is feked in his set up. Theres no way he should be going through spurs like that. Bet the rovan one looks like crap before 3 tanks.
Never said I bought it?OMG THAT ROVAN JUNK WILL NEVER WORK..... BLAH BLAH BLAH ROVAN IS JUNK!!! I CANT BELIEVE THE KING IF HPI EVERYTJING JUST NOUGHT LOW QUALITY GARBAGE!!! your such a hypocrite zed
also the thing is, all the braces are all stock, there is nothing aftermarket so it should be just the stock mesh. gear plate is slightly twisted by the breaks but when i remove the plate the mesh doesn't change. im leaning with the gears just being poop

Yup. Got me a set??Detroit performance has bearing kits for $27
I'm not running an fs clutch anymore . Running a standard zen with a ddm 9500 spring.@Z.hb71 If you can get a 17t pinion for your clutch bell, I will be glad to send you one of my stock 57t spurs to run with just to see if it is actually the Hostile plastics. My stock spurs are a couple years older than even the oldest Hostiles.
All this being said, I want to touch on your clutch ?... for one second. Are you running the FS Racing clutch along with the white coated spring it came with? If so, you aren't getting the promised engagement numbers.
I've been running it most of the season, and I got the feeling that it was far lighter than 8k. Seemed like I was getting clutch engagement at a far lower throttle than I expected: it was barely over idle.
Turns out I was right. The white spring on the FS clutch I bought was closer to a 6k spring. My DDM 8k springs showed up this afternoon and they are FAR stronger/thicker/more of a pain in the arse to install, and it takes a lot more throttle to engage the clutch. This could be part of the reason you aren't seeing any low end torque at the moment.
I still don't know why you are shredding spur gears, but heat could still actually be an issue running 19/55 if your engagement point is low due to a softer clutch spring.
I'll report my own results once I can get another run on the record. Still waiting for shock parts to arrive...
This could be true. So your suggesting I go with another plastic gear but replace the old (possibly bad) bearings and see what happens?Z my spur and pinion have been on for about 9 months now with no wear, also been through 3 pistons and barrels plus a complete engine in that time. For price of a bearing kit from likes of RCModels or DDM I'd do a bearing replacement.
The bearings may feel tight when cold but once warm could have too much play or even a cracked race. Think a bearing set is about the same price as a hostile spur IIRC.
Sounds like a good idea. Other than bearings there's like nothing that I can think of, an bearings are cheap. So I think Ill try this ? then if it still strips just go steel.⬆What do you have to lose?,one other thing to eliminate unless your just jinxed.?
Z: Talks about keeping floor tidyNot about my Baja but I've got a tool cart ? hopefully keep the floors semi tidy .
