lmao doug, yeh i know i know , this redo of the hammer has taken a looooong time, way longer than i planned on ,
but now its lighter, lower centre of gravity, much more betterer ,
mighteven see if i can get the thing started wi the leccy drill just so it runs again

not sure if this is gonna work just to get the twin running, then repair the pull start proper later,
just wanna hear the thing run again ,
found a piece of steel that has a hex bore and fits just nice on the pawls on the engine ,
glued some hex bar inside it ,



nice long hex bar that will go in from front of the DH,



18v makita power ,
will see if it works when the glues gone off a tad,
what could possibly go wrong ? ,

and it worked, ran it up to temp for a while then turned the fan on to cool it down a tad,
i do have an issue with fueling though, front cylinder is running around 26 degrees hotter than the rear,
carbs have been stripped and refreshed though so gonna need a full on reset with everything,
pic below is after fan was turned on, temps dropped almost equal and balanced out,
tried to get a max temp pic but tto's were alternating the max temps ,
i did chew up a set of pawls getting it running, steel drive on alloy pawls,
but thats no biggie, i just needed to get it running again ,

yeh it sounds ok, but just needs a tickle to get it better ,
have to remove the coil plate off the front of engine now though to change the pawls out ,
the bar and drill was just a bit bodgey to get it running again,
in my excitment when it first popped i carried on and knackered the pawls,
my own fault yes, but feel so much better now i finally got the twin running again ,
and yes defo need some run vids

fixing my compressor at moment cos a fitting jammed open on it , it never ends

sooooooo this is what happens to the starter pawls when yer a rough twat ,
easy fix, there £3.99 for the complete starter plate with the pawls,, will grab one or two this week ,



had to remove the coil plate to get the starter plate off ,
well took it off and was like this in the pic below,
right side coil was flopping around not tightened proper by numbnut here ,
cant help wondering if the loose coil had sommat to do with why it didnt sound quite right when it was running to me,
i'll make sure its tight when it goes back on

A lose coil would definitely give issues probably a good thing the starter shat itself

yeh as ya know its the secondary coil doug, so not theones that are gapped to the flywheel,
but still earthed through the bolt hole,
bit of an oversight on my part leaving it loose though,
we all make mistakes sonetimes
