If you have a website like Craigslist near you try to find a used aquarium chiller. Thats what im looking for now

There’s only 1 for sale in the whole province via our online alternative to Craigslist. 1/3 hp and $800.00 so that’s a no go.

I’m skeptical of the cheap retail aquarium chillers like those on Amazon & fleabay, some terrible reviews. I completely agree it would be the most hassle free solution if you can find a quality one at a decent price. I was considering a chiller for a different project but a quality one was cost prohibitive. Sean’s idea of a small mini fridge instead of the cooler interests me.

I was just trying to limit how much I put into this setup and how much equipment I’ll need to store after I’m done. Once I’m done I can cannibalize the pump and temp controller for other projects and the cooler is already here taking up room in the basement. Don’t know how much anodizing I’ll do in the future other than just this 5th scale stuff.

Probably going to have a problem getting efficient thermal transfer with plastic. Type 3 will be hard to do without a high end chiller with titanium internals that the bath can be directly recirculated through to cool effectively. It’s definitely an improvement over past runs!👍🏻

It absolutely works biz. One thing I've found to be a minor pain is making sure you have absolutely excellent connections if either is weak you won't get the amps you need and you'll start burning the part. Adjusting the power supply shouldn't be a struggle and if it is one of your connections has poor contact

Just wanted to show what happens as I've now found out that you can't anodize over anodizing and they mean it  🤦‍♂️ ... so polished the old cooling head to a mirror finish to achieve a glossy finish and yep I got some striping from the old anodizing. You can tell from the pics it blends right in....im hanging in there but it can be a pain in the ass to get what your looking for to be spot on 20210705_201248.webp20210705_201241.webp20210706_184809.webp
