I have to fix my front end ,the wreck had cause the little clip come off my front wheel axle an caused a steering rod to pop off ,also
got to put a couple screws back in ,going to have lock tite them!
May have the vid of the wreck ,I would have to check as I got frustrated an didnt upload it ,I also hope that I didnt fry my clutch
as the buggy did not die on impact ,it stayed running at half throttle wedge up against a fence!
So I am not going to be running the buggy until I get the wild tamed down ,it will be tested with out the wheels being on it!...

No lower hinge pin brace?‍♂️

Huh ,......good eye ,I did notice the
little gap the other day like something was missing ,I thought that a shim went there that I missed ,that part is orange an
I think that there was a orange plate that I couldnt remember where it went ,I will retrieve it ,an put that on ,thnx for spotting!... (y)

So the fact you had extra parts after assembly didn't clue you in???? Don't EVER become a mechanic please.????‍♂️?‍♂️

I had parts laying every where ,an there was also parts that I had replaced with other parts ,there is several of those pieces that
look the same ,so it was quite easy to miss it or miss take for a part that was swapped out!....?‍?

Ok ,here is the first fire up after the linkage change ,a big difference ,now I am getting a idle ,after warm up ,it started to idle faster ,that was
because the low needle was too lean! I think Doug had mentioned that it was in the linkage setting or in the radio setting ,however ,the way
the linkage was set up ,was Cacca from factory!

Here is the first start vid!

Here is the vid after some minor adjustment on the Low needle setting ,had to be richen up a little to calm the idle! The on & off
throttle transition is way better with dual linkage set up!

looks hot ? round yours??

About 98 Deg today ,an it is going to progress higher in a few days on up to 109 ,thats why I try to do this in the morning!

Ben having issues alday ,if it isnt one thing ,it is another ,I put a screw on the hammer to get more idle setting ,then went to go do
a street run vid ,then my primer bulb failed ,had to change it!...:banghead:

I recommend these . https://www.dgiracing.com/clip-less-front-wheel-adaptor-for-the-hpi-baja/

Or just sand down the lip on the hub , and tap the hole for a screw and bam, clipless hubs ? there's a guide on hpi:'s website "bullet proof your Baja" on how to do it

I have no issues with installing clips ,the buggy hit a fence an caused it to pop off ,it was the first time it came off ,however ,
I like the parts that Coop showed ,I am not altering my hubs as I don't have real issue with them coming off!... (y)

I'd do clipless either way. The clips are poop and will come off if you do any kind of offroading (I tested it a few months back, 10 mins in and the wheel came off). Just lettin ya know ?

I may have to do a set screw ,but I don't need a vid ,I done that stuff before ,I was thinking about doing it when the clip came off ,if
I didnt have clips ,but I did have spares!
The hub has to be altered because there is no room ,Im not too worried about that now ,the new clip is staying on ,I am just trying
to get the engine to idle stable while I brake an the engine tuned ,see what happens tomorrow!...

I'm running the Dark Soul extended hubs which are already tapped for clipless, but you gotta grind down the E-clip mounts. I installed them with the clips with the intention of finishing the mod back in 2009 once I lost a clip. I still haven't lost one... Maybe I'll finish the mod this winter out of boredom.

I had to get more 2 stroke oil ,that is why that I haven't messed with this in a while ,the new carb took a dump ,but made
a carb out of the two ,so I will try to see if it will fire tomorrow ,much too hot now to try to tune now!...

I went out today an put fresh gas & oil in the tank ,freakin fuel filter was off the fuel line ,had to find a tiny hose clip to put on it ,have a bunch
of those clips laying around ,but it fired right up an the fuel bulb is staying full ,so I will throw the rear tires back on an give it a street run!..
